The Jordan River Parkway is an approximately 40-mile urban park that runs along the Jordan River within the U.S. state of Utah. The parkway follows along the river from Utah Lake in Utah County, through Salt Lake County and onto the Great Salt Lake in Davis County. It is a natural treasure of the SLC Valley that provides hours of nature watching and exploring a like.
The flora of the Jordan River Park Trail displays quintessential Utah flora: Russian olive and tamarisk or salt cedar trees now dominate the Jordan River floodplain. Willow and cottonwood trees are also found here. Plant species such as foxtail barley, saltgrass, rabbitbrush, cattails and other reeds are still found in small pockets along the river. It is a serene location with plants typical to Utah.
The fuana of the Jordan River Park Trail include deer, wild boar, European hare, mountain hare, Indian crested porcupine, rock hyrax, European hedgehog, long-eared hedgehog and desert hedgehog. Approximately 426 species of bird have been recorded in Jordan including: beaver, pelican, geese, seagulls, ducks,
